One of the keys nutrition facts to understand in bodybuilding is you’re been grossly misinformed about proper nutrition…
You see, in general you do not need a lot of protein.
And for your overall health nutrition requirements, high protein intake is overated.
Heres why?
Just follow the dotted line…
This misinformation in particular is primarily from two influential groups:
- Agribusiness
- Bodybuilding
Nutritional information: The companies manufacturing supplements own and publish almost all of the big fitness and bodybuilding magazines.
Nutrition info: Obviously agribusiness need you to spend as much as possible on meat, dairy, poultry and grains.
Sports nutrition: No surprise bodybuilding supplement companies need you to spend as much as possible on muscle building supplements…
And that’s despite the well-documented health problems associated with all of the above.
To illustrate the point, here’s a clear nutrition example of the overestimated need for high protein intake and/or consumption.
Humans and primates share a very high percentage of DNA coding, and Apes get the vast majority of their nutrition from vegetable (plant) sources.
For example – primates like:
- Orangutan
- Chimpanzee
- Gorilla
Have you ever seen a healthy ape that was lacking in muscle mass?
Some of the most powerful creatures on the planet eat very little protein, so why are you told to eat lots of protei?
Yes, you need amino acids that protein is made of, all of which are readily available in a healthier, more easily assimilated form in plant food sources.
In fact, eating protein from animal devired sources means your body has to actually work harder.
Your body has to go the extra step of digestion and breaking it down further into amino acids before it’s even usable.
You may also know it’s not necessary to consume all the essential amino acids in the same meal or even in the same day.
Plant protein is not incomplete or inferior…this is just consumer hype and misinformation from the lobby groups.
In fact, the exact opposite is true.
In reality, vegetable (plant) protein is already in the form of useable amino
acids and therefore directly accessable by your body.
Why plant source protein is actually superior?
Food for thought…what if gorillas and primates eat plant derived protein?
Let’s reveal the true source of their vitamin and antioxidant-rich whole fruit, mineral-rich leafy green diet provides.
Plus a little additional protein and fat in the form of nuts and seeds.
Now, if the food pyramid guide we’ve been following for the past 50 years is in any way correct, why have Americans become the fattest nation on earth?
And for good measure, why are health problems like diabetes and heart disease increasing at a catastrophic rate?
Do some research and you’ll see why everyday, more and more well known world-class elite athletes (Olympic and professional) are now eating cleaner or (raw diet) and winning.
Stay tuned…I’ll be updating this nutrition segment soon.
Plus going deeper into much greater detail about the step-by-step specifics of this simple, yet amazing approach to eating.
And revealing the science behind it for your maximum health, fitness and longevity.
